Your Bristol UCU Newsflash, 6th March 2019

1) This Thursday! One Year On From The USS Strikes, Royal Fort Gardens, 17:00

Join us tomorrow as we recapture the unifying spirit of last year’s USS strikes, one year on:

We’ll meet at Celia’s bench in the Royal Fort Gardens (just to the right behind the mirror sculpture as you approach it from Royal Fort House) at 5pm, and after a short walk we’ll end up at the Highbury Vaults by 6pm, latest. Don’t miss this great opportunity to reconnect with or meet your union colleagues!

2) Bristol UCU General Meeting, Wednesday, 13th March, 13:00-14:00, Arts Complex, LR8

You are invited to the University of Bristol UCU General Meeting next Wednesday, 1-2, in the Arts Complex, LR8.

Items on the agenda include an update on the current USS pensions dispute, a report from branch negotiators on the current state of our Gender Pay Gap [link] and Anti-Casualisation [link] Claims and the election of UCU Annual Congress 2019 delegates.

The four candidates for the four Congress delegate positions are Suzy Cheeke (Vice President & Library Services), Paul Ayres (IT Services), Jamie Melrose (Branch Secretary) and John Foot (Italian)
