E-ballot closes Friday.

2) Bristol UCU Annual General Meeting, 1pm-2pm, LT3 Woodland Road, Wednesday 10th May

Date for your diary: our branch AGM is in two weeks time.

On the agenda: voting in Branch Officers and Exec members, approving the accounts and the branch officers’ report covering promotion and progression, workloads, the national pay claim, staff constraints, the NSS boycott, restructurings etc.

We’ll also have a discussion of Congress motions, based on the results of the e-ballot.

Agenda to be sent out shortly.

If anyone is interested in serving on our branch Executive Committee, then email ucu-office@bristol.ac.uk

3) Pathway 2 and Pathway 3 Reps

We are delighted to report that we have 3 UCU reps on the progression and promotion review:
Scott Greenwell – Member of the Pathway 2 Working Group
Tom Sperlinger – Member of the Pathway 3 Working Group
James Thompson – Member of the Promotion and Progression Task and Finish Group Steering Group (which both Working Groups report to).
As regards the review of Pathway 1, it is being conducted by an HR Officer.

We will be setting up focus groups in May/June for UCU members of each pathway – details to follow soon.

Bristol UCU is keen that the review speaks to as wide a range of staff as possible – early and mid career staff, not just Heads of School and above – and have impressed that point. Also, Bristol UCU is drafting its own submission. If you would like to input into the any of the reviews please email ucu-office@bristol.ac.uk

4) Meet UCU For Lunch

We are running another Meet UCU for Lunch session on Tuesday 16 May, 12.30 – 13.30. Members and non-members welcome. Please encourage non-members to come along. To register:
