2) Strike Action and Get The Vote Out

Monday, 28th March is the first of 5 scheduled days of strike action that week for Bristol UCU and other branches across the UK.
Bristol UCU and UCU across UK Higher Education will take a week of strike action, in our USS and USS and Four Fights disputes, to force university managements to shift from their current intransigence.

On USS, we strike to get employers to revoke cuts to our pensions and reopen negotiations.

On Four Fights, we strike to get employers to make a meaningful UK-wide offer on workload, on casualisation, on pay inequality and on the headline rate of pay.

Today is also the first day in the reballotting of Bristol UCU members and of members across 148 other universities over our twin disputes.

Vote now, vote early. The ballot closes on Friday, 8th April.
Please look out for your ballot paper in your letter box or pigeonhole. To check your mailing address, go to

https://www.ucu.org.uk/myucu
A successful reballot, a vote for members to take more strike action, will allow us to continue taking action through this 2021/22 academic year, escalating the dispute, for example, by moving to a marking and assessment boycott [link].
