Casework is the way we defend UCU members’ rights in the workplace and negotiate improvements to their situations. It is deeply rewarding. Bristol UCU is grateful for the work our caseworkers volunteer to do on behalf of other Bristol UCU members. All cases are taken on voluntarily.
If you think you might like to help support fellow UCU members, you should be assured that you would never be unilaterally assigned a case. Once you completed casework training, you would shadow an experienced caseworker and learn by doing.
Casework training is offered regularly through UCU’s South West regional office and Bristol UCU periodically organises courses here at Bristol. If you have any questions about casework, please contact ucu-office@bristol.ac.uk
